America Online Announces Time Warner Partnership

AOL Continues to Lead Market For Faster Access to Online Services and the
Web

Vienna, VA, July 17, 1995 -- America Online Inc. announced today that, in
partnership with Time Warner Cable, it will begin a 500-home broadband
trial in Elmira, NY. AOL will begin delivering its service next week to
participants in the nine-month-long market trial, in which the companies
will demonstrate the consumer benefits of delivering online services over
a broadband network.

Ted Leonsis, president of America Online Services Co., said, "The Time
Warner trial in Elmira represents AOL's latest step to partner with
leading broadband providers to deliver on its promise to keep AOL members
in the forefront of developments in high speed and multimedia access."

"AOL members are now participating in broadband trials around the country.
The early feedback we've gotten indicates our members are very
enthusiastic about the benefits broadband technology brings," Leonsis
said.

America Online's goal of offering increased bandwith to its members will
provide a more robust multimedia online experience including delivery of
real time audio and video, and the ability to download photos and
graphics, software and other multimedia files much faster than is
otherwise possible. Broadband service also means faster access to the
Internet using AOL's newly-integrated Web browser and will free-up
members' telephone lines while they are online.

AOL will offer qualified members in the Elmira system the opportunity to
participate in the trial. Participants will be charged AOL's standard
monthly rate of $9.95 for 5 hours and $2.95 per additional hour. Time
Warner will charge separately for access to an entry service package,
including a cable modem.

AOL's first trial got underway in December 1994 with Viacom Cable in Castro
Valley, CA. AOL's other cable partners include Comcast Corp; Cablevision
Systems Corp.; Continental Cablevision; Rogers Cablesystems Ltd; and the
JC Sparkman Center in Denver, CO.
