Apple Sponsors Developer Central Pavilion at Macworld Boston

Compendium of Developer Products, Information and Technical Seminars
Offered Under One Roof

Cupertino, CA - July 26, 1995 - Apple Computer, Inc. today announced its
plans to showcase the latest products and information for developers at
Macworld Boston, August 8-11, 1995. Co-sponsored by Apple and MacTech
Magazine, the Developer Central Pavilion is designed to provide convenient
access to information on the latest developer products and services for
Apple Macintosh and Newton development.

"Developer Central has one mission - to provide resources that help
developers succeed in the Macintosh market," said Ike Nassi, vice
president, Apple System Software Technology. "We reached 16,000 Macworld
attendees at our expanded Developer Central in San Francisco last January.
In Boston, we'll build on this tremendous interest by demonstrating our
growing portfolio of tools and support programs, and by fostering
education and collaboration among tools vendors and application
developers."

At Developer Central, developers of all experience levels can find the
tools and information they need to create corporate and commercial
applications, as well as multimedia titles and custom solutions:

--Each day, the pavilion will feature a full program of technical seminars
at its two theaters. The Overview Theater will offer 30-minute surveys of
selected technologies and products of interest to developers, including
Copland (the next-generation of the Macintosh Operating System), Applecore
tools and frameworks, Lotus Notes, QuickDraw GX and QuickDraw 3D. The
Seminar Theater will feature 75-minute introductory tutorials, focusing on
topics such as Macintosh client/server development, AppleScript and
multiprocessing on Mac OS-based systems. All seminars will be offered free
of charge, as a courtesy to Macworld attendees.

--Noted author, developer advocate and new Apple Fellow, Guy Kawasaki, will
be on hand each day at designated times to sign copies of his latest book,
"How to Drive Your Competition Crazy." Guy will deliver a special version
of the daily 30-minute presentation, "Becoming an Apple Developer!" on
Thursday morning, August 10, at 10:15 in the Overview Theatre.

--Within its 6,600 square feet of exhibit space, Developer Central will
showcase over 50 developer product and service providers in individual
booths. Attendees will be able to speak with representatives from Adobe

Designs; JYACC, Inc.; Kaleida Labs; Language Systems Corp.; LightSource;
Main Event Software; Metrowerks; Microsoft Corp.; Motorola; Nisus
Software, Inc.; Powersoft; Symantec Corp. and other leading developer

--Dozens of tools and information products will be available for
cash-and-carry purchases from the pavilion's APDA and MacTech booths. Many
products will be discounted substantially. APDA is Apple's source for
developer tools.

--Representatives from Apple's Developer Programs organization will be on
hand at the pavilion to discuss Apple's support programs.
