AUTODESK UNIVERSITY WILL FEATURE COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM FOR AUTOCAD USERS
AND ALL NEW MULTIMEDIA CONFERENCE

Third Annual Conference And Exhibition Addresses Broadening Scope Of CAD,
Plus State-of-the-Art Rendering and Animation Applications

San Francisco -- July 5, 1995 -- More than 230 classes, including courses
on extensions to AutoCAD, systems design and data management, and 80
hands-on working lab sessions, will make this year's Autodesk University
Conference and Exhibition bigger and more comprehensive than ever. Running
from October 29 to November 2, 1995 at the Moscone Convention Center in
San Francisco, the third Annual Autodesk University features a detailed
program for professional users of AutoCAD, the world's most popular design
software for engineers and architects, and an entirely new Multimedia
Conference-Within-A-Conference to address the state-of-the-art in
rendering and animation applications.

Design and engineering professionals -- in fields ranging from architecture
to mechanical engineering, facilities management to landscaping, and
digital mapping to multimedia game authoring -- will learn about the
latest innovative applications and productivity tools for Autodesk
products from a faculty of 116 industry experts. Between sessions,
attendees can see the latest applications and service offerings at an
exhibition devoted exclusively to Autodesk-related products.

Carol Bartz, chairman, president and CEO of Autodesk, will launch the
conference at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29 with a keynote address on
Autodesk's vision for future technology. Following the address, Autodesk
technology partners will demonstrate work performed to date with Autodesk
software. This will include samples of visual effects from the upcoming
Hollywood production "Virtuosity," shown by Dan Mapes of Cyberlab 7. Other
special events include the annual meeting of the North American Autodesk
User Group (NAAUG) and AutoCAD Certification Exams.

Two Complete Conferences

The new Multimedia Conference-Within-A-Conference and special multimedia
pavilion on the exhibit floor reflect the versatility and popularity of
Autodesk products in this rapidly growing market segment. More than 75
classes, on topics such as Design Visualization, Interactive Authoring,
and Film and Video, are open to all Autodesk University conference
attendees. Hands-on multimedia lab sessions are offered for beginners who
want to work with Autodesk's animation products -- 3D Studio, Animator
Studio and AutoVision -- as well as for advanced users who want to improve
their skills and learn about new features.

Autodesk's Multimedia Division, in conjunction with DIGITAL VIDEO magazine
and the "Planet Studio" newsletter, will present the first annual Planet
Studio Multimedia Awards & Electronic Festival at 7:00 p.m. on Monday,
October 30. The awards will showcase the best Autodesk generated images
and animations from around the world.

Three Super Speeches linked to the Multimedia Conference are planned,
beginning with a presentation at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30 by
Richard Buday, president of Archimage. This award-winning design studio
has created architectural imagery for commercials, interactive media
products and print production. Speeches on Tuesday morning and Wednesday
morning will be delivered by Frank Foster, responsible for computer
animations and special effects in the movie "Johnny Mnemonic," starring
Keanu Reeves; and Graeme Devine, president of Trilobyte, Inc., who will
present the company's newest title, "The 11th Hour: The Sequel To The 7th
Guest." Both were produced using Autodesk's 3D Studio software.

AutoCAD Content Grows

While the Conference-Within-A-Conference focuses on rendering and animation
applications for Autodesk software, more than 150 other conference
sessions will deal with day-improving their productivity by learning new
tools and refining their skills can choose from subjects ranging from an
update on features in AutoCAD Release 13, to customizing with AutoLISP and
tracking dimensioning variables. Other classes, geared toward management
level attendees, will focus on topics such as choosing operating systems,
document management solutions and creating and publishing documents on the
World-Wide Web.

This year's 80 hands-on lab sessions, contrasted with 14 sessions in 1994,
will let conference attendees build their working experience under the
guidance of Autodesk experts. The AutoCAD and Multimedia lab sessions,
each 90-minutes long, provide a PC for each attendee to work through both
introductory and advanced techniques.

As always, the conference also features an exhibition of the latest
available products and services. Vendors from more than 150 companies
offering hardware, software, peripherals, and add-ons for design and
engineering professionals will exhibit from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on
Monday and Tuesday, October 30 and 31, and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on
Wednesday November 1.
