NEW CARDDOCK PCMCIA READER/WRITER ALLOWS TWO TYPE III CARDS, 3.5-INCH
FLOPPY IN SINGLE PC DRIVE BAY

Los Gatos, CA -- July 10, 1995 -- Greystone Peripherals, Inc., the leading
supplier of PCMCIA reader/writers, today introduced its newest model, the
GS-220F CardDock.

This "Floppy Combo" accommodates two PC card Types I, II, and/or m, as well
as a 3.5-inch, half-height floppy disk drive, in a single 5.25-inch drive
bay on a desktop personal computer.

Designed due to industry demand, the unit is the only such reader/writer
now on the market that incorporates mixed peripherals, and PCMCIA devices
up to 15mm. This flexibility both ensures compatibility with form factors
greater than the 10.5mm maximum Type m standard, and provides room for
greater read/write storage, as floppy diskettes are still the primary PC
data I/O medium.

The unit includes all features for which CardDock reader/writer products
are noted, including patented eject mechanism, front-panel telephone jack,
and convenient plug and play installation.

"With CD-ROM drives, tape backup, and a various other peripherals being
added to personal computers, drive bays are at a premium," said John
Usher, Greystone's president. 'We make it possible not only to link
desktop PCs to PCMCIA technology, but utilize a floppy drive that might
otherwise be lost."

Greystone's floppy combo is expected to appeal to the OEM and add-on
markets as a value-added PCMCIA adjunct, either for linking, or to upgrade
desktops to PCMCIA capability.

The CardDock family of universal reader/writer for PC cards is fully
compliant with PCMCIA version 2.0x specifications for memory and I/O cards
and Intel ExCA specifications.

The two-socket CardDock floppy combo enables easy plug-and-play of any
memory and I/O PC cards designed to PCMCIA specifications. The CardDock is
a totally compatible solution for reading and writing data, and the
exchange of data files and peripheral 110 functions between mobile and
desktop PCs using PC Cards.

CardDock's software supports most Flash File software systems provided with
various flash cards and protects critical data integrity, allowing PC
Cards to be moved from system to system and slot to slot.

The CardDock software also manages system resources with easy-to-use pop up
menus, and includes DOS- and Windows-compatible PCMCIA Card Services and
Socket Services software for configuring the system and each PC Card,
managing I/O ports, interrupt levels and memory blocks. The software also
allows online PC card insertion/removal, an important feature for
preserving data integrity and preventing data loss. PC Cards can thus be
moved from system to system, one slot to another, without identification
conflicts, much as a floppy diskette.

Each turnkey CardDock includes two- slot docking bay hardware, a PC
interface card which installs into any 16-bit AT-bus slot, cables and
software. Occupying a half-size slot in the front of any PC, the unit's
patented ejection system allows all PCMCIA cards to be mounted nearly
flush with the PC's front bezel. This diminishes the possibility of card
damage or bent internal connector leads due to improper insertion or
removal. The CardDock unit is easy to install and use, featuring LED
read/write activity indicators.

Greystone Peripherals, Inc., was founded in 1992 by industry veterans John
Usher and George Robinson. The company designs, manufactures and markets
computer peripherals. In addition to the CardDock family of reader/writers
for the PCMCIA market, its DataFast hard disk drive software duplication
system is targeted to the software manufacturing market. The company is
located at 130 Knowles Drive, Los Gatos, CA 95030; Tel: 408-866-4739,
