REVELATION TECHNOLOGIES AND LOTUS DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCE REVELATION'S
PURCHASE OF EXCLUSIVE LICENSE TO LOTUS NOTES VIP

Version 1.1 of ViP Now Shipping; Available Immediately from Revelation

STAMFORD, Conn., July 19, 1995 -- Revelation Technologies, Inc and Lotus
Development Corp. today announced Revelation has acquired an exclusive
license to Lotus Notes ViP from Lotus. Lotus Notes ViP is a Windows-based
application development environment for creating native Lotus Notes
groupware applications. Specific terms of the transaction were not
disclosed.

Under Revelation's exclusive license, the product will be re-named ViP for
Lotus Notes. Revelation will assume all development, sales, marketing, and
support for the product and a team of core ViP developers will join
Revelation's staff. Following a brief transition period, Revelation will
support all current and future ViP customers and Business Partners. Lotus
will retain rights for unrestricted use of the technology both within
Lotus and IBM, Lotus' parent company.

Concurrent with the announcement of the agreement with Lotus, Revelation
announced that commercial shipments of version 1.1 of ViP for Lotus Notes
have begun. The product is available immediately from Revelation at
800/262-4747.

Revelation Technologies' flagship product, OpenInsight for Workgroups:
Lotus Notes Edition, has been a primary competitor to Notes ViP in the
Notes development marketplace. Revelation will support parallel
development paths for both products. Under terms of the license,
Revelation will continue full-scale development of ViP, including an
upcoming version 2.0 to be released shortly after the release of Lotus
Notes 4.0. Subsequently, the company plans to exploit the best
technologies of its Notes development tool suite: OpenInsight for
Workgroups' repository technologies; ViP's visual development paradigm and
rich-text support; and Report Designer's WYSIWYG banded reporting of Notes
databases.

According to James Acquaviva, president and CEO of Revelation Technologies,
ViP adds significant value to Revelation's current product line. With the
acquisition of ViP, we will be able to offer Notes developers the best of
both worlds, he said. We will be able to offer a suite of Notes
application development tools that includes the best features of our
powerful repository-based OpenInsight product with the strong ties to
Notes that exist in ViP. Most importantly, we are privileged to have a
talented group of software professionals from the ViP development,
support, and product management teams joining us. We think the agreement
with Lotus represents a substantial value-add for ViP customers.

Jeff Papows, vice president of the Lotus Communications Business Group
said, This is a win-win for everyone involved -- for Lotus, for
Revelation, and most importantly, for our customers. The agreement with
Revelation will promote the success of Notes by sharpening Lotus' focus on
core Notes functions and enhancing the market for application development
and maintenance tools from Lotus Business Partners. This agreement with
Revelation is an excellent illustration of Lotus' commitment to building a
thriving industry of third party developers around Notes. For customers,
this agreement ensures continued support for developers building
applications with ViP's terrific capabilities for custom front-end
development and data integration. Revelation is a highly successful
company focused on the developer's tools market and we are certain that
Revelation can build on ViP's growth.

ViP for Lotus Notes 1.1 Now Shipping

Concurrent with the announcement of the agreement with Lotus, Revelation
also disclosed that commercial shipments of a brand-new version of ViP
began today. ViP for Lotus Notes, version 1.1 is available immediately
exclusively from Revelation Technologies, which will be responsible for
sales, support, and upgrades for the new product.

ViP 1.1 extends its Notes application development capabilities with support
for Notes rich text, improved Notes query performance, and a Bonus Pack of
more than 15 new developers tools and sample applications.

o Rich Text Support -- The rich compound document model of Notes enables it
to store information such as formatted text, graphics, images, file
attachments, and linked or embedded multimedia objects such as voice/sound
or video in Notes documents. ViP 1.1 provides a new rich text object that
can access the contents of a Notes rich text field. Notes developers can
now build custom applications that browse, launch, edit, and update key
components stored in rich text fields.

o Improved Notes Query Performance -- ViP 1.1 for Lotus Notes also includes
view paging, which significantly reduces the amount of data traveling
through the network between the Notes server and the ViP client.

o ViP 1.1 Bonus Pack -- More than 15 new tools and sample applications are
included in ViP 1.1 that increase developer productivity. These include a
mailing label generator for creating Avery-style labels, an Infobox for
setting object properties, and a template for building tabbed dialog user
interfaces.
