QUARTERDECK INTRODUCES GAME RUNNER FOR PC GAMES

System Enhancers Address Gameplayers' Needs: More Speed, More Memory and .
. . Winning

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 15, 1995--Quarterdeck Corporation (Nasdaq:QDEK)
today announced Quarterdeck Game Runner, a utility suite designed to
improve the gameplaying performance of both the computer and the player.
Game Runner includes three utilities that make more memory available to
the games, speed up both CD ROM and hard disk access, and allow a PC
player to "cheat" on supported games. Game Runner is expected to ship at
the end of June, with formal showings at PC Expo in New York beginning
June 20.

Quarterdeck Game Runner is the first package to provide a suite of
utilities specifically for PC games. Game Runner includes the QEMM Game
Edition from Quarterdeck Corporation, Cache86 from The Aldridge Company,
and introduces The Gamecheater.

Alex Eckelberry, Quarterdeck's senior director for the Utility Software
Business Unit, commented, "With CD-ROMs, sound boards, networks, and DOS 6
utilities using so much of a machine's memory, game players are finding it
increasingly difficult to find the memory required to run today's games.
Many games require over 550K of RAM just to start, which in most cases
means rebooting with a clean boot disk. QEMM Game Edition removes this
inconvenience by providing the maximum memory possible with minimum
involvement from the user. Users no longer have to reboot and they can
switch from games to applications with great ease."

"The inclusion of Cache86 allows for increased speed during game play,"
continued Eckelberry, "and the Game Enhancement Modules provided in The
Gamecheater provide full run-time assistance to get to that next level of
play, decreasing frustration that often accompanies playing a new computer
game."

"Giving the gameplayer the tools to maximize the machine's performance
wasn't enough. Besides increased speed and more memory, we wanted to
include something else the player could enjoy. That's where The
Gamecheater comes in," said Alex Eckelberry, senior director of the
Utility Software Business Unit. "The Gamecheater adds a new dimension to
games: the ability to cheat! The player can use The Gamecheater to
replenish lives or ammunition. It even goes so far as to introduce
outrageous new weapons to the game - Whoever heard of using halitosis as a
death weapon?"

The Key Components to the Game Runner

QEMM for Game Edition - Version 7.5 of Quarterdeck's award-winning,
class-leading memory manager takes advantage of fast 32-bit speed and
patented STEALTH and DOS-Up technologies to assure the user will get the
most memory possible, whether the games need EMS or XMS memory. QEMM has
automatic installation and optimization procedures. Its long-standing
history of reliability and compatibility dates back to 1985. QEMM also
includes Manifest 3.0, the system analysis and diagnostic utility.

Aldridge Cache86 - Cache86 from Aldridge includes a hard disk cache and a
CD ROM cache, with a Windows-based setup and monitoring utility.

The Gamecheater - This TSR overrides pre-defined game functions and
parameters to give the user more of what is needed to play. The
Gamecheater adds more time, money, ammo, shields, lives or whatever else
the favorite game requires. "GEMs," or Game Enhancement Modules, gives
cheats specifically geared to each game.

Obtaining Additional Game Enhancement Modules - As new cheats are developed
and discovered, Quarterdeck will make new or upgraded Game Enhancement
Modules available to registered Game Runner owners. They can be obtained
through:

* Quarterdeck's BBS number; (310) 314-3227
* Quaterdeck's forum on CompuServe; type GO QUARTERDECK.
* Internet: Quarterdeck's FTP site is: qdeck.com
* For further information and product status, call Quarterdeck's
automated technical support service at 1-800-ROBOTECH

With their large graphics files, games access a PC's hard drive or CD ROM
continuously, often slowing game play to a crawl. Cache86, a CD ROM and
hard disk cache that increases performance, solves this problem.

The QEMM Game Edition is a special version of QEMM, Quarterdeck's
award-winning memory manager. The QEMM Game Edition includes the basic
functionality of QEMM 7.5, without the Windows version of Manifest,
Windows Setup or QuickBoot.

It is expected that Game Runner will retail for below $50.00.
