SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY TO ACQUIRE CREATIVE INTERACTION TECHNOLOGIES

NT-Based Enterprise-Wide Batch Scheduling Technology Key to Creating
Mainframe-Class Systems for Client/Server Environments

SCOTTS VALLEY, CALIF. --June 21, 1995 -- Seagate Technology (NYSE: SEG)
today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire
Creative Interaction Technologies (CIT) of Chapel Hill, N.C., maker of
AshWin, the industry's leading batch scheduler for heterogeneous
client/server computing. Subject to certain closing conditions, Seagate
will purchase the company for an undisclosed amount of cash. In connection
with this transaction, Seagate anticipates that it will incur a one-time
write-off of in-process research and development of approximately $6
million during its fourth quarter ending June 30, 1995.

The CIT acquisition is part of Seagate's strategy to build a software
business that provides a comprehensive set of network, storage and
information management products to commercial enterprise customers
utilizing client/server environments. Since 1994, Seagate has acquired
Crystal Computer Services Inc., Palindrome Corp., Network Computing Inc.,
NetLabs Inc. and Frye Computer Systems Inc.

"As more mission critical applications move to client/server architectures
it has become increasingly difficult to effectively manage the
interdependencies between applications and between data created by
different applications," said Steve Luczo, Seagate's executive vice
president of Corporate Development and chief operating officer of
Seagate's Software Group. "Many people in the PC industry believed that
batch scheduling was strictly a mainframe application, and that there was
no need for batch scheduling in a network environment. But actually, it is
fundamental to maximizing the efficiency of distributed computing
resources across the enterprise."

AshWin provides mainframe-like automated batch job scheduling for the
client/server environment, enabling unattended background processing with
dependencies. It maximizes use of all PC power (24 hours a day) on a given
client/server network. Applications compatible with Windows, Windows for
Workgroups, Windows NT, MS-DOS, UNIX, AS/400 or OS/2 can be scheduled with
AshWin to run unattended, reduce human error, and eliminate the need for
off-hours network administration staffing.

Luczo said CIT's technical strengths include its expertise in agent
technology which performs more than one system management task at each
network node. By comparison, most network agents today are designed to
perform a single task only. Luczo also cited CIT's Windows NT expertise as
important knowledge that will be shared immediately with Seagate's other
software companies to achieve long- and short-term product goals. Finally,
Luczo recognized Roberta Hardy, CIT's chief executive officer, and Robert
Dale, the company's chief technology officer, each with more than 20 years
experience in providing systems software to large enterprises, as welcomed
additions to the management team of the Seagate Software companies.

"Seagate offers us the resources and marketing strength to reach the
broad-based markets our batch scheduler, AshWin, is designed to serve,"
said CIT's Hardy. "We look forward to working closely with the other
Seagate Software companies on development, sales and marketing efforts,
and making a significant contribution to achieving Seagate's financial
goals for the group."

Creative Interaction Technologies, Inc., develops and markets network task
management solutions for companies implementing enterprise-wide
client/server information processing environments. A Microsoft Systems
Solutions Provider since 1992, CIT is headquartered in Chapel Hill, N.C.
