Siemens Nixdorf's biggest PC order in Sweden: National Labour Market Board
ordered environmentally friendly PC

July 24, 1995 -- Paderborn/Stockholm. Siemens Nixdorf has recently achieved
its biggest PC order in the Swedish market. As part of the 'Datortek'
project, which is an initiative of the National Labour Market Board AMS,
Siemens Nixdorf has been granted a project part of 11,5 Mio. DM. In this
project, unemployed young people will be trained in working with the PC.
Siemens Nixdorf will install 3500 PC and deliver training documents. The
installation will take place from August through October with up to 700
PCs per week.

The Swedish government has initiated the Datortek project and has allocated
around 23 Mio. DM. AMS has been commissioned to install these PC in all
260 of Sweden's local authorities, where young unemployed people will be
able to learn more about PC technology. It is estimated that per year 80
000 young people will take part in this project. In each local authority a
central PC server will be installed together with several (up to 120) PC
clients in a network.

The extensive environmentally friendliness of Siemens Nixdorf was an
important argument for AMS: Siemens Nixdorf's PCs fulfill high-ranking
demands of environmentally friendliness and the holistic ecological
progamm extends from construction and production to recycling.

This Datortek order is Siemens Nixdorf's biggest PC shipment ever in Sweden
and is also the company's biggest order this year in the Swedish market.
Its PC sales estimates to 20 000 units this year, which means that Siemens
Nixdorf climbs onto the 'top 10 list' in Sweden. Within the last three
years Siemens Nixdorf was able to triple its PC sales in Sweden.
