BURDEN OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT COSTS EASES WITH NEW LAPLINK HOST FROM
TRAVELING SOFTWARE

LapLink Host is invisible to user, provides robust remote and file transfer
features and maintains excellent network security says IS manager

BOTHELL, Wash., July 31, 1995 - Today, Traveling Software, Inc. began
shipping LapLink Host, a reliable remote control software solution used by
help desk staff who provide technical support to users running Windows 95,
Windows 3.x and DOS.

LapLink Host is designed to provide Information Systems (IS) and Help Desk
managers with an easy to configure, reliable solution to help them curtail
the escalating costs associated with technical support for PC users.

According to a 1994 Help Desk and Customer Support Practices Report
compiled by the Help Desk Institute, 56% of respondents cited that
'changes', 'upgrades', 'conversions' and new 'installations' accounted for
the most likely reason for an increase in monthly technical support calls
with the second highest percentage of 54% citing 'new technology' as a
main contributor to increased monthly calls.

With Windows 95 fast approaching there will be even greater demands on IS
and help desk staff, said Mark Eppley, CEO of Traveling Software.

Pre-loaded machines, new 32-bit applications and a definite learning curve
all dictate more support problems. LapLink Host is being installed today
by hardware suppliers, software providers, and corporations to help
existing Windows 3.x users and in preparation for the wave of new Windows
95 users.

Bob Landolfi, director of sales technology at ScottForesman, a major
educational publishing company, supports over 180 salespeople around the
country. He's been searching for an economical way to reduce his tech
support costs, increase call-response time, and improve customer
satisfaction.

LapLink Host is the ideal corporate remote network support solution, says
Landolfi. It's invisible to the user, provides robust remote and file
transfer features and maintains excellent network security. I considered
other products like Symantec's pcANYWHERE, but learned that LapLink was
the most easy-to-use and reliable package. It's a stable unobtrusive tool
that allows all the functionality of LapLink for Windows, at half the
cost. Traveling Software did a tremendous job of meeting the IS manager's
needs with LapLink Host.

LapLink Host is a streamlined version of award-winning LapLink for Windows.
LapLink Host resides on the enduser's computer and limits outbound
connections. LapLink for Windows resides on support technician's
computers, allowing access to the host PC. Support technicians use LapLink
for Windows together with LapLink Host to diagnose and resolve user
problems, distribute new software and set up PCs remotely over an IPX
network or by modem. Host provides the needed network security that IS
managers prefer by disabling the outbound customer host PC connections and
adding password protection. These features ensure that unauthorized users
cannot jeopardize internal security and helps protect the network from
outsider access as well.
