Xylogics' Remote Annex Named Network Computing Magazine's "EDITOR'S CHOICE"
For Remote Access

REMOTE ANNEX WINS ON POWERFUL ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT TOOLS AND SUPERIOR
CLIENT SOFTWARE

Burlington, MA--June 29, 1995--Xylogics, Inc., the leading provider of
universal remote access solutions, today announced that its Remote Annex
4000 multiprotocol remote access server has been named Editor's Choice" by
Network Computing magazine.

The award, announced in the July 1 issue of Network Computing, was based on
a comparative benchmark review of seven remote access servers, including
Xyplex's MAXServer 1620, Cisco Systems' Cisco 2509 Access Server, Digital
Equipment Corporation's Digital NetRider 90, Motorola's BitRUNR, U.S.
Robotics' Total Control NETServer, and LAN Access Corporation's LANA/8e.
The comparative review focused on dial-in remote access. All seven
products were judged on performance, feature sets, management and price.

Network Computing states, "Xylogics has stepped up to the plate and hit a
home run with the (Remote) Annex....The (Remote) Annex 4000 is fast, easy
to manage, includes good client software and offers it all at a good
price." It commended Xylogics' graphical management application, the Annex
Manager, as "intuitive, powerful and well-designed," with "several smart
features." The server architecture of the Remote Annex was characterized
as "unique...(it) focuses on corporate access resources, while providing
control to the department using the access service."

"We are extremely pleased to receive this award for the Remote Annex," said
Bruce Sachs, President and CEO of Xylogics. "Xylogics' mission has always
been to provide the best total solution for enterprise-wide remote access.
The fact that we have been recognized on the strength of our enterprise
features - the Annex Manager and our FastLink II client software -
confirms that we are indeed delivering to our customers a manageable
strategic solution for complete corporate remote access."

The Remote Annex 2000 and Remote Annex 4000 provide remote and mobile users
with multi-protocol, enterprise-wide access to corporate LANs. Both
products are fully scaleable. The Remote Annex 2000 offers 8 or 16 ports,
while the Remote Annex 4000 is expandable from 8 to 72 ports. The Remote
Annex line offers support for a broad range of standards-based management
features. Each Remote Annex server offers built-in, high level security -
including password protection, dial-back and support for Kerberos and
Security Dynamics' SecurID technology - for excellent protection against
unauthorized network access. All Remote Annex products come with free
unlimited use licenses for Xylogics' FastLink II Windows-based client
software, making the Remote Annex a very cost effective remote access
solution for even the largest of enterprise-wide networks. A lifetime
warranty on hardware and 30 days of free telephone support are also
included.
