Version 2.1 of BananaCom is now available adding both a batch upload
facility, and an improved modem scan function. BananaCom will not only
automatically scan for the modem and detect its speed during installation,
but now performs a test looking for possible com port conflicts.

"We found that 95% or our incoming support calls were because the user was
experiencing some type of com port conflict. Our new modem scan function
will accurately detect these problems, and let the user know about them
during installation," stated Paul Wheaton, the Top Banana. Version 2.1
also contains a feature which will perform an even more thorough scan of
the hardware if the user desires.

Another new development is the implementation of auto Super Kermit, which
is known to be a good protocol for file transfers across a telnet session.
Also added is the ability to view JPEG files and text on the screen at the
same time, while they are downloaded. The new JPEG feature even allows a
BBS to display a thumbnail JPEG in the corner of a full screen ANSI
graphic. All this is done online in real time.
