COMPUTER ASSOCIATES RE-ENGINEERS OVER 1,000 FIELD STAFF TO BETTER SERVICE
CA AND LEGENT CLIENTS

WANG: "GROUND-BREAKING TRAINING SETS PRECEDENT FOR THE TWENTY-FIRST
CENTURY"

NEW ORLEANS, LA, August 29, 1995--In a move to better service CA and Legent
clients, over 1,000 Computer Associates and former Legent employees
gathered in New Orleans within days of the acquisition, for product and
service cross-training. Field service and technical representatives from
six continents specializing in systems and database management learned
about the synergies of the combined CA product lines.

CA Chairman and CEO Charles B. Wang kicked off the technology exchange with
President, COO and chief architect of the acquisition, Sanjay Kumar, who
conducted the event to enhance the skill level of the expanded CA family.

"With the software industry changing at a rapid pace, it is extremely
important that our field organization be the most informed resource
available to our clients," said Wang. "Technical exchanges, such as these,
are going to be the key in making our employees more effective as we move
to the twenty-first century."

"It was time to inform our field service and technical staff about what
we've known all along--the synergies between the two product lines will
bring tremendous benefits to our clients," said Kumar. "We were very
pleased to see so many enthused members of the CA family eager to share
their new-found knowledge."

"This was the most impressive field training I've ever attended," said Jay
Myer, former area vice president of sales for Legent, now CA divisional
senior vice president of sales. "I was amazed at the breadth and
completeness of our combined solutions and look forward to helping our
clients meet their business needs."

"The technical exchange was so well executed and organized in such a timely
manner, it's no wonder why CA was ranked by ComputerWorld as the number
one place to work in the technology industry," said Shelly Talbott, former
area vice president of sales for Legent, now CA divisional senior vice
president of sales.

The training covered CA's three major product lines:

Enterprise computing management: Management of the entire IT
infrastructure--including systems, networks, databases and
applications--covering a wide range of categories such as help desk and
problem management, security and audit, automated operations, storage
management, configuration management and performance management.

covering a wide range of categories such as DBMS, data warehousing,
application development, application management and application
deployment.

Enterprise business applications: Management of business processing
covering a wide range of categories such as manufacturing, warehousing,
