DATEL Virtual Instruments Software Automates PC/ISA Analog I/O Boards

User-friendly Software Gets Designs Up and Running Fast

Popular LabVIEW drivers now available

User-friendly, visual programming gets a data acquisition system up and
running fast, avoiding design delays associated with traditional "C"
coding. An intuitive visual programming system, that harnesses all the
power of Microsoft Windows' graphic user interface (GUI) now replaces low
level software development! The LabVIEW "virtual instruments" are
essentially customized front panels and visual flow diagrams.

Selectable icons

Preprogrammed software blocks appear as selectable icons representing
sensor inputs, A/D converters and data outputs. Choosing an icon allows
the user to characterize the input voltage range, channel and sampling
rate. Math functions are similarly implemented and include FFT's, DSP and
A/D math. The "virtual instrument" provides an interactive "front panel"
interface. Switches, knobs, pushbuttons, sliders, meters, graphs are all
selected according to the application.

DATEL's PC/ISA families of analog I/O boards supported

Drivers for the National Instrument's LabVIEW support the following DATEL
PC/ISA analog l/O board families (all drivers require separate purchase of
LabVIEW from National Instruments):

PC-411/412: These general purpose A/D & A/D-D/A (PC-412) boards offer up to
16 single-ended or 8 differential inputs (expandable with PC-440
multiplexer board to 256SE or 128D inputs). Choice of 12- or 14-bit A/D
resolutions with speeds to 83kHz are offered. Features include onboard
FIFO memory for data streaming to memory, programmable gain amplifier
(PGA), on-board programmable clock/trigger functions and digital I/O (8
in, 8 out). The PC-412 version adds four 1 2-bit D/A output channels
(200kHz) with simultaneous update capability. Model PC-412LV is the
LabVIEW virtual instrument software. Also available is the PC-412LVS, the
full-commented "C" source code to the PC-412LV.

PC-414: These ultra-fast, non-stop, gapless "data-streaming" to memory A/D
boards utilize a high performance, selectable A/D section and local FIFO
up to 16k samples. The pluggable analog front-end sections offers up to
16SE or 8D channels (some with simultaneous sampling capability), A/D
resolutions of 12- to 14-bits and sampling rates to 10MSPS! All PC 114
models have a programmable trigger/counter, programmable analog threshold
trigger and a 10MHz parallel port. Most include a single 12-bit D/A
converter (200kHz update rate). Model PC-414LV is the LabVlEW virtual
instrument software (PC-114LVS is the full commented "C" source code to
the PC-414LV).

PC 430: These advanced A/D-D/A analog I/O boards provide an on-board 40MHz
TI320C30 DSP co-processor with library, up to 4 to 8Mbytes of SRAM, plus a
high-performance selectable analog section. The pluggable analog front-end
offers up to 16SE or 8D channels (some with simultaneous sampling
capability), A/D resolutions of 12 to 14-bits and sampling rates to
10MSPS! All models of the PC 130 provide multiple triggering schemes
(pre-trigger ring buffer memory capability), dual 12-bit D/A and 24-bit
digital I/O. Model PC 130LV is the LabVIEW virtual instrument software
(PC-412LVS is the full commented "C" source code to the PC 130LV).

Pricing and delivery:

LabVIEW driver software, "LV" suffix is $50.00 for all versions. Each "LV"
package consists of an MS-DOS diskette and a short User Manual. A brief
data sheet describes each model. LabVIEW driver software source code "LVS"
suffix is $150.00 for all versions. All products are shippable now.
