DELL REDUCES PRICES ACROSS CORPORATE DESKTOP LINE

AUSTIN, Texas, September 19, 1995 -- Dell Computer Corp (Nasdaq: DELL), the
leading direct marketer of personal computers, today reduced prices from 3
to 16 percent on popular configurations of its Dell OptiPlex line of
desktop PCs. The OptiPlex systems are aimed at corporate and government
customers who require high quality systems for use in complex network
environments.

The lower prices are effective immediately on all Dell OptiPlex X500
models, designed for mainstream corporate users, and all Dell OptiPlex DGX
systems, designed for power users. Today's announcement reaffirms the
company's commitment to position the OptiPlex line as the price leader in
desktop computers for large organizations. "Today's pricing action is the
result of component cost savings, along with other efficiencies in our
business and our ability to pass them along quickly to our customers,"
said Tom Martin, vice president of major accounts marketing. "There's
never been a better time for our corporate and government customers to buy
from Dell." For example, an OptiPlex XL 5133 slimline desktop system,
formerly priced at $3,805, is now priced at $3,215, a reduction of 16
percent. The above system is configured with a 133 megahertz (MHz) Pentium
processor, 16 megabytes (MB) of memory, a 1 gigabyte (GB) hard drive, a
15LS color monitor, Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 3.11 factory-installed
and a mouse. Additional sample prices are below.

All Dell OptiPlex products include a number of features and capabilities
designed for the requirements of the corporate marketplace, such as
extensive testing and validation and Novell certification. The OptiPlex
line includes broad operating system support, including Windows NT, IBM
OS/2 and Novell NetWare. The systems are backed by Dell's three-year
service and support program, which includes unlimited toll-free hardware
technical support, seven days a week, 24 hours a day; 30-day money back
guarantee and access to Dell's SelectCare(SM) program -- Dell's
custom-configured extended service offerings.
