DATA GENERAL PARTNERS WITH VIRTUAL REALTY NETWORK, INC., TO OFFER UNIQUE
MORTGAGE APPROVAL SYSTEM

WESTBORO, Mass., September 12, 1995 -- Data General Corporation today
announced an agreement with Virtual Realty Network, Inc. (VRNI) to provide
computer systems to real estate offices and financial institutions,
enabling them to use VRNI's videoconferencing mortgage services.

The solution which will combine VRNI's LoanMaker loan origination software
with Intel's ProShare Video 200 teleconferencing system on a Data General
PC, provides prospective homebuyers a same-day, direct approval service.
Through desktop videoconferencing, users will interact face-to-face with
VRNI's neutral third-party loan facilitators as well as with the lender
selected by the consumer.

"The system enables homebuyers to evaluate and analyze different loan
products from our lender network based on the homebuyer's needs," said
Michael A. Barron, VRNI President and CEO.

"The VRNI solution brings a new level of efficiency and convenience to home
buying by enabling the prospective buyer, real estate agent, loan
facilitator and financial institution to talk face-to-face while sharing
data and applications on their computers," said Joel Schwartz, Data
General's Vice President of Worldwide Sales. "We are pleased to offer a PC
configuration that allows users to take full advantage of this powerful
application."

"PCs are the vital link between VRNI and the real estate offices and
financial institutions that is essential for our on-line loan selection
and approval service. Because advanced technology is essential to the
success of our service, we will provide the complete solution -- including
hardware, software, ISDN service and installation -- both to real-estate
offices and financial institutions," added Barron. Real-estate offices
will not be charged for these services.

Under the terms of the agreement, Data General will provide the lease
financing for VRNI for PCs, software and hardware installation and
maintenance at user sites.

The system is currently in Beta Testing in San Fernando Valley, CA and will
soon be rolled out nationwide. The market opportunity for the computer
systems is up to 10,000 real estate offices throughout the nation.

About LoanMaker

The solution simplifies the loan selection process by integrating all the
necessary elements for on-the-spot mortgage application preparation,
review and approval. The real estate agent initiates the process by using
the system to connect the client, via desktop videoconference, to a VRNI
representative. Using LoanMaker software, VRNI's representative
interactively collects information needed for the loan applications. The
VRNI representative then integrates data from public-record repositories
to add title information, lot descriptions and credit information.

The representative then searches a loan database and displays the results
on-screen, giving the borrowers a selection of loan options. Borrowers can
then ask questions about loan rates and perform calculations such as the
effect of the down payment on the amount of the monthly payments.

The application can be revised for clarification by either party. After the
loan is selected, the agent facilitates a video conference with the
lending institution to complete the process, using forms transferred
electronically by VRNI. If the loan application meets the institutions
underwriting guidelines, the lender can quickly complete the transaction.
