SPICE Newsletter Declares Windows 95 Is A Guarantee

The Intusoft Newsletter is a unique FREE publication dedicated to
discussing the SPiCE circuit simulation program and its usage. The August
1995 issue contains information on simulating switched mode power supply
designs and pulse code modulation.

In the August issue of the Intusoft Newsletter, Intusoft claims that its
analog and mixed signal simulation software, ICAP/4, is guaranteed to work
on Windows 95. Users should not fear upgrading to Windows 95, at least as
far as Intusoft's software is concerned and that they should go full speed
ahead and reap the benefits that the true 32-bit operating system offers.
Any required upgrades to make the software function will be supplied by
the vendor.

The first application note discusses simulating SMPS using a library of new
SPICE models for Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) ICs. Several example
converter circuits using models for Linear Technology, Cherry
Semiconductor, and Siliconix PWM ICs are used to demonstrate the nonlinear
transient performance of the models. A mock data sheet is also provided
showing simulating vs. measured performance for the Unitrode UC184x series
of PWMs.

Another newsletter article discusses the generation of low distortion sine
waves using the unique IsSpice4 state machine model and pulse code
modulation techniques. Several new power diode SPICE models from Solid
State Device Inc. (Irvine, CA (714) 670-7734)), are presented.

Intusoft has also announced that the price for its popular "Simulating With
SPICE" SPICE 2 reference book has been reduced to $15. The book includes a
great deal of information on the universally accepted version of SPICE
2G.6, a tutorial guide for beginners, complete syntax reference section,
and an applications notes chapter.

A floppy disk containing the schematics and SPICE models from the Intusoft
Newsletter, along with over 100 power BJT (TIP series),40 Asia-Pacific
BJTs, TL431, and SSDI power diode models, is available for a nominal fee.

The Intusoft Newsletter is the only regularly scheduled publication
dedicated to SPICE modeling and analog circuit simulation. An electronic
version (Replica document) of the Intusoft Newsletter is posted on
CompuServe (CADD/CAM/CAE Vendor Forum) and the Internet
(ftp.iee.ufrgs.br). The peak newsletter circulation is currently at 34,000
readers in over 110 countries.
