LANCAST Introduces NE2000 Compatible Plug and Play Ethernet Adapters for
Windows 95

September 11, 1995, Amherst, NH -- LANCAST, a leading provider of
innovative and cost-effective Ethernet solutions, today announced two new
Plug and Play Ethernet adapters for Microsoft's Windows 95 platform. By
taking advantage of the Plug and Play feature of Windows 95, the new
adapters provide automatic hardware setup and software installation on
today's high-powered computers and laptops. The EZlink ISA and EZlink
PCMCIA adapters also feature NE2000 compatible drivers for easy
installation with other popular operating systems.

"The Plug and Play feature of Windows 95 makes it easier than ever before
to install a network card, and these adapters allow our customers to take
full advantage of that feature," said Asbjorn Sorhaug, LANCAST's chief
operating officer. "We've also retained complete NE2000 compatibility not
only for the ISA cards, but also for the PCMCIA cards. Because of their
support for these two industry standards, our new NICs eliminate the need
for additional software and extensive setup procedures. Users simply
install the cards, and they will automatically configure themselves using
the drivers included in the operating system."

EZlink 4216 ISA Adapter

The LANCAST EZlink 4216 series features an integrated data-prefetch design
to improve network performance by ensuring maximum transmission speeds. An
optional BOOT ROM socket allows a diskless workstation to connect to the
network. Diagnostic LEDs provide information on link and traffic status.

To provide maximum network flexibility, the adapter is available in
versions supporting twisted pair only and a combination of twisted pair,
BNC and AUI. The adapter meets the FCC's 1996 safety and emission
standards and provides driver support for all major network operating
systems.

EZlink 4109 PCMCIA Adapter

The EZlink 4109 PCMCIA Adapter supports hot-swap insertion and removal to
allow users maximum flexibility for their PCMCIA slots. The adapter
features automatic polarity detection and correction and includes
diagnostic LEDs to monitor link status and data traffic condition.

The adapters are available in a single media twisted pair version as well
as a dual media twisted pair and BNC version. The EZlink 4109 is FCC Class
B certified for use in both home and business environments and supports
all major network operating systems.

Pricing and Availability

The EZlink 4216 ISA Adapter carries a suggested list price of $59 for the
10 Base-T version and $79 for the triple media version. The EZlink 4109
PCMCIA Adapter has a suggested list price of $159 for the single media
