POWER COMPUTING AND PROJECT LINK

THE WORLD'S FIRST AIRCRAFT / EARTH INTERNET VIDEO CONFERENCE USES POWER
COMPUTING'S POWER 100 PERSONAL COMPUTER

September 13, 1995 @ 45,000 Feet - On September 20, 1995, Eureka
Scientific, Inc., NASA's Kuiper Airborne Observator, The Exploratorium,
Power Computing and Apple Computer will be presenting Project LINK, an
internet video conference between teachers and scientists on board NASA's
Kuiper Airborne Observatory (KAO) and students on the ground. The video
teleconferencing CPU station on board the KAO, a converted C-141 military
cargo plane carrying a 36-inch reflecting telescope, will be Power
Computing's award-winning Power 100 MacOS compatible computer.

The public will be invited to attend this event where several teachers and
a student on the KAO share data from scientific experiments with students
and teachers on the ground, via the internet video conference. Power
Computing's Power 100 will serve as the interface between the air and the
ground, assisting in providing the students on the ground with, among
other things, results of the experiments on the KAO.

Video data will flow from the KAO to NASA's ACTS satellite, back to a
ground station at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California,
and then onto the Internet to the Exploratorium. The Power Computing Power
100 will use Apple's new and exciting QuickTime Conferencing software to
send and receive the video signal.

"We are very excited and proud to be a part of Project LINK," said Stephen
Kahng, President and CEO of Power Computing. "This is a fantastic
opportunity to bring tomorrow's future scientists and astronauts together
with the high-tech and scientific communities to participate in
an-out-of-the-world Internet experiment."

The KAO is the world's only airborne astronomical research facility which
allows observations from anywhere on earth with freedom from cloud cover
and water vapor attenuation. The first of its kind, this internet video
conference between the KAO and the ground is another step toward involving
the public in the adventure of scientific discovery.

The KAO is famous for major discoveries including the first sightings of
the rings of Uranus as well as the identification of an atmosphere on
Pluto. The Exploratorium is located inside the Palace of Fine Arts in San
Francisco's Marina District. The event will be held September 20 from 7pm
- 9pm at the Exploratorium's McBean Theater.
