Windows Solutions Focuses on New Products and Technology Education

FOSTER CITY, CA (SEPTEMBER 13, 1995) - Windows Solutions, the technical
showcase for customized business solutions on the Windows desktop, was
host to over 21,000 attendees at its annual conference and exhibition,
held August 29-September 1 in San Francisco. Systems integrators, IS
professionals, technical and business managers, consultants and developers
visited presentations by over 170 exhibitors and experienced a variety of
educational events, including technical training classrooms sponsored by
Oracle, Symantec, Borland and Novell.

EXPOSITION FEATURES NEW TECHNOLOGIES

As the first trade show event following the launch of Windows 95, nearly 60
vendors at Windows Solutions demonstrated their Windows 95-related
products, in addition to other exciting product launches and announcements
by some of the industry's leading vendors.

Among the dozens of releases made was Gupta's preview of its new suite of
component-based software to provide tools for 32-bit application
development. Ramco Systems Corporation announced its &Marshal8 suite of
client/server applications for Windows 95, SQL Server 6.0 and BackOfficev,
while Wall Data Incorporated announced the RUMBA Data Access family of
products. In addition, a press-only New Product Luncheon featured
demonstrations of the latest innovations from fifteen companies.

At Windows Solutions, exhibitors had access to a targeted and well-
qualified audience of technical buyers. On-site attendee surveys conducted
by Market Perspectives Inc., an independent research company, showed that
87% of the attendees plan to deploy Windows 95, with 56% planning to do so
within six months. Over 68% of the attendees work in a technical capacity
and 90% of the attendees are directly involved in their company's
purchasing process.

"Our technical classroom was packed throughout Windows Solutions, giving us
an excellent opportunity to educate the highly developer- oriented
audience about our products," stated Doug Laird, Director of Marketing for
Client/Server at Oracle Corporation.

In addition to the Technical Classrooms and Microsoft Certification Testing
center, the exposition floor featured three days of interactive product
demonstrations, including Technology Pavilions for Windows 95, Digital NT,
Powersoft, Solutions Providers, Powered by Progress and WinSock. The show
floor offered attendees an opportunity to find solutions to their current
needs or to explore a new technology or product for future plans.
