As you wish...

Well, I've finally decided to try my hand at fiction, like in the echos
(OKILLERS & OOII) Here goes nothing...

As he stepped out of the inter-complex telepod, Si Ma Yi sighed. He
hadn't been doing much as of late, and it was beginning to depress him.
Yes, he was killing monsters, but it took a LOT to get up a level now.
And if one wasn't careful, a Hydrite would stab you in the back. He
sighed again, and heard a little voice speak to him: "Ister, wok ou tall
e a sdoreeh? Peeeease?" And, instantenously, his worn Galacticom
translated: "Mister, will you tell me a story? Please?"

He sighed again. "Not now, kid." he spoke. Alamingly he noticed
more children coming from other sections of the Main Hall, and the
sections of the barracks where those lived who did not fight in the
wastelands... The oldest was about ten. All asking for a story, or
playing with his weaponry and equipment. Again he spoke up. "OK, I'll
tell you a story. What would you like to hear about?" The first one
spoke up: "Ah sdoreeh bot wateands eh drites." And of course, his
radiation-burnt Galacticom translated: "A story about the wastelands and
Hydrites." "OK," he said, "I'll tell you how I became a HX soldier. OK?"
They all cheered.

How Si Ma Yi became an HX soldier...
(As well as he remembers... [grin])

A while ago, about a couple months, Si Ma Yi had no name... as far
as anyone was concered. He was a nomad, stopping at complexes to beg of
food and drink, as well as ammo and MedKits. One complex he visited,
long forgotten which one it was, and he had chance to talk with a HX
recruiter. He found out that the Hydrites had a new leader: Overkill. He
also found out that they were in the process of a second attempt to
defeat him. Si Ma Yi mumbled, and asked what had happened to Hydra'ta,
the Hydrites leader before the second wave of nuclear holocaust, and
found out that he was killed, and any idea of trade with Earth ended.
After some long hard thought, he said, "I'd like to join the HX force."
The training wasn't that tough in his opinion, but he was one of the few
recruits who chose Savian training. But that was easy. He would battle a
few times, die, get picked up by the morgue scapers, and die. A few
times he gave up, but something in him kept him going. Soon, he realized
he was doing pretty good, and he soon got e-mail from a powerful recruit
who was called Smelly Socks. At that point, he finally figured out that
he was a powerful recruit himself, and he might defeat OverKill some
day... but that was for the future...

Until then... watch your back...
