                RETRIBUTION

PART 3 BY THE CHOIR BOYZ TEAM...........................

Slayer stole a sideways glance at Scorpio and could tell that
he had done a lot of growing and ageing in the last couple of
months. "So, did I miss anything?" Slayer asked. Scorpio
pondered the question as he tore a chunk of mortar from the
dilapidated wall that surrounded him. "Well", he said
finally, "a few new recruits have come and gone. And some
discoveries have been made." Slayer was not accustomed to the
seriousness of this man's voice. He remembered him as a spry,
devil-may-care youth who had joined the force for the
adventure. "What kind of discoveries?", the veteran looked
into the battle worn eyes of his subordinate. Scorpio started
to explain but something caught the corner of his eye. He
flung the mortar he had been holding with one quick reflex.
As the stone neared the ground it struck a small beast between
the eyes that forced a squeal from its rodent-like mouth.
"Germites.." muttered Scorpio, "I hate the look of them."
Scorpio examined the wall for another projectile and his train
of thought returned. "We found out how to get inside the Air
Force Bases." he explained. "We can operate the missiles in
the silos now". His latter statement seemed to disturb him
somewhat. "Its gonna happen all over again, you know." He
continued, "We'll screw around with those things and someone
will use them for all the wrong reasons." It's already
started." Slayer felt a chill crawl slowly up his spine at
this news. He had always hated the structures that housed
that kind of power. He was not a stranger to the use and
benefits of duroplast but nuclear weapons was another story
all together. The sound of breaking glass snapped him from
his thoughts and he turned his gaze towards the Complex, just
in time to see Osprey hit the ground after creating a new exit
in Barl's Tavern.

"AAAARRRGGGGgghhhhhhh!!! I've had it with you, Eliminator!"
Osprey snarled as he pulled a large chard of what used to be
Barl's window out of his thigh. Although he was quite capable
of holding his own in battle, Eliminator was a stout adversary
and he carried youth on his side. Besides, unarmed combat had
never been Osprey's strong point. Eliminator peered out of a
new hole as he passed a dozen or so water crystals to Barl for
the damages. Barl grunted, apparently satisfied that he would
profit from this brawl and returned to the bar. "Watch that
last step, bird-man", Eliminator cackled, "it's a doozy!!".

Lynx and Black Widow had been sitting under one of the few
remaining trees in the Wastelands, seeking refuge from the
heat of the day when the disturbance broke out. "Boys."
muttered Black Widow as she got up and brushed the dead grass
from her combat suit. "I'll get da medpack." said Lynx to her
lounging partner. "Dis is starting to get old". Her native
accent still would not allow her to pronounce "th".
