                RETRIBUTION

PART 20 BY THE CHOIR BOYZ TEAM.......................

Even Osprey smiled when Eliminator returned to the Complex.
Eliminator was exhausted but he could not control the
adrenaline that flowed through him. Hawks location was passed
on and Eliminator gave every detail of the battle to
Scarecrow. Eliminator knew he had hurt Hawk badly, and that
Hawks supply of medpacks would surely be diminished. He also
informed him of the floppy disk. Scarecrow and Osprey gazed
at each other with concern and fear. Osprey excused himself
to prepare Lynx for her assignment. Eliminator settled down
for a long, needed rest. All recruits remained at their
posts....... alert.

With the coordinates in hand, Lynx headed for Hawks last known
location. Lynx was not as powerful as Eliminator, but she was
wiser and more cautious. Lynx took few chances had hoped to
find Hawk asleep, and attack without a sound. She did not
want to give him the chance that Eliminator had. The march to
the camp was much easier than that encountered by Eliminator.
She had a map detailing the way to Hawk's camp. And although
the high winds had not passed, they seemed a little more
forgiving.

Lynx watched the camp for an hour, but the camp fire offered
little light. She had to get a closer look. Lynx hugged the
edge of an impassable rock and eased ever closer to the camp
sight. She could now see the campsite clearly, and what
looked like a backpack, Hawks backpack. But where was Hawk?
Where were his weapons? She reached into the pack and removed
a full medpack. The distinct sound of a Herculean rang through
the mountains, and the round struck the ground, just inches
away from Lynx. Hawk charged out of the shadows, seemingly
out of control, and attacked with his Xendrix. Lynx countered
and sliced away at Hawk's face and arms. Blood splattered in
every direction as the two continued to wail away. Lynx saw a
different look in Hawk's eyes, not that of supreme confidence,
but that of anger and confusion. Hawk's power began to take
control, and Lynx turned and ran. Once again, Hawk's
Herculean failed him. The three remaining uses of his medpack
went quickly.

Hawk was dreaming. He dreamed of launching a missile very
close to the complex, one that would destroy the northern hole
down to level 2. He would enter the Air Force Base on level
5, and collect as many landmines as he could carry. Once the
landmines were in place on the remaining holes that led to
level 2, he would put the remaining mines on the squadron
bases. And if time and energy permitted, he would use the
floppy disk still in his back pack. It was a pleasant dream.
