Holiday dates for ANARTS

The  ANARTS broadcast will go into recess after 18th  December
and resume on 15th January 1995.

If  you  have  any last minute news items  to  go  out  before
Christmas,  send them to the Broadcast Officer ANARTS P.O. Box
860 Crows Nest 2065 by last post on 16th December.

We will see you again on January 15th,  refreshed and raring to
go.

SOLAR ACTIVITY WAS VERY LOW, EXCEPT FOR 16TH NOVEMBER WHEN  IT
WAS LOW.

THE  GEOMAGNETIC  FIELD AT LEARMONTH WAS QUIET ON  25TH,  THEN
WENT  TO MAJOR STORM LEVELS ON 26TH,  DECREASING TO ACTIVE  TO
MINOR STORM LEVELS DURING LOCAL NIGHT ON 26TH,  THEN QUIET  OR
QUIET TO UNSETTLED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE PERIOD.

IONOSPHERIC  F2 CRITICAL FREQUENCIES AT SYDNEY WERE  DEPRESSED
ABOUT 15 PER CENT ON 25TH,  THEN NEAR PREDICTED 26TH AND 28TH-
29TH  NOVEMBER.  fREQUENCIES  WERE DEPRESSED  15-30  PER  CENT
DURING LOCAL NIGHT ON 27TH,  15-20 PER CENT ABOVE ON 30TH, AND
NEAR PREDICTED TO SLIGHTLY DEPRESSED ON 1ST DECEMBER.


             FORECAST (02 NOVEMBER - 08 DECEMBER)

SOLAR:        VERY LOW

GEOMAGNETIC:  QUIET TO UNSETTLED.

IONOSPHERIC:    SLIGHTLY   DEGRADED  HF  COMMS  EXPECTED   2-3
               DECEMBER, NEAR NORMAL OTHERWISE.

20,  15  and 10M,  runs from 2100Z Saturday 10 Dec.  to  0100Z
Sunday  11 Dec.  Rules are the same as the ARRL RTTY  Roundup.

Digital Journal,  November 1994,  p. 31. (And look for K8UNP/4
operating from either ZB2 or EA7 in the test.) Logs go to Bill

VIETNAM.   Rolf,  SM5MX,  aka 4S7MX and 5Z4MX,  is active from
Hanoi  signing XV7SW.   Listen for his fixed frequency  CW  on
3505,  7033,  14016, 14021, 21019 and 28016 kHz.  QSL via Rolf
T.  Salme,  Embassy of Sweden, Box 9, Hanoi, Vietnam.

NEPAL.   Willi,  OE7KWT, is signing 9N1WT using the station of
9N1KY.  He  uses 21270 and 14270 kHz around 0800z but has been
on the 14226 DX net around 1145z.  QSL via OE7KWT.

TUNISIA.   JH2CFD,  JF2EZA,  JR2RVL and JL2OYI are instructing
Tunisians  on  amateur radio operations and plan to set  up  a
club  station.   Equipment  will include a  monobander  on  15
meters,  a  tribander,  dipoles for the low bands and barefoot
transceiver.   The  club call sign is 3V8BB.   Try  14025  and
14195 kHz around 0700z.  QSL via JF2EZA.

GLORIOSO.  Jacques, FR5ZU/G, will be going home on December 1.
It  was reported earlier that the departure date was  December
8.  QSL via VE2NW.  Henri, FR5ZQ, who is also on the island at
this  time,  will take over for Jacques and is expected to  be
active through the end of the year.  QSL via CBA.

KERMADEC  ISLAND.   Barry,  G4MFW,  aka ZS1FJ,  has obtained a
license  and plans to operate for two weeks starting  sometime
in March.  Arrangements for a stateside QSL Manager are  being
made.

GOLIST  NEWS.   Jay and Jan O'Brien of the "The W6GO/K6HHD QSL
Manager  List"  have  decided to retire after  many  years  of
dedicated service to DXers.   Paul and Nancy Smith,  N4FFO and
KB4RGW,  will  be taking over the QSL Manager  List,  aka  The
GOLIST, so the SHOW/QSL and SHOW/GO functions on PacketCluster
will remain intact.

PIRATE'S COVE.   Rudi, DK7PE, phoned the DXCC Desk on November
22.  claiming  that stations ST0CW and SU2CW that were on  the
air November 11 and 12 were pirates.  They gave DK7PE as their
QSL manager.
