VIETNAM.  Rolf, SM5MX, reports new legislation on amateur radio is
in the works and is expected to be passed sometime in 1995.  He has
been issued the call sign XV7SW and granted permission to operate on
fixed frequencies only.  They are 3505, 7033, 14016, 14021, 21016,
21019, 28016 and 28019 kHz.  His mailing address is Rolf T. Salme,
Embassy of Sweden, Box 9, Hanoi, VEITNAM.
 
SEYCHELLES.  A group of JA operators will be active from November 22
to 25.  The calls S79CC, S79SS, S79TR and S79XE will be used.  They
will be on 160 through 10 meters and OSCAR 13.  Modes will include
CW, SSB and RTTY.  On 160, check 1824 and 1910 kHz.  On OSCAR 13
check 145.885 MHz.  QSL via JI1NJC.
 
BOTSWANA.  Dave, A22MN, is on 160 meters starting at 0300z around
1827 kHz.  As propagation permits he moves to 3511 kHz, and then
sometimes to 40 meters.  He will be on during the CW weekend of the
ARRL DX contest.  Dave leaves Botswana in March 1995.
 
EAST MALAYSIA.  Saty, JE1JKL, will sign 9M6NA for the CQWW CW
contest on 20 meters.  QSL via JE1JKL.
 
MADEIRA ISLANDS.  DL5EBE, DL2HYH, HB9CRV and a few others will be on
from November 25 to December 1.  The CQWW CW contest is on their To
Do list.  Listen for CR3U by DL2HYH on 15 meters, CR3X by DL5EBE on
40 meters and CT3FN by HB9CRV on 80 meters.  The DL ops will be
signing CT3/ their home calls before and after the contest.  QSL via
home CBAs.
 
NEW CALEDONIA.  Serge, F6AUS, will be active as FK/F6AUS from
November 17 to December 8 on all bands, CW and SSB.
 
GLORIOSO ISLAND.  Jacques, FR5ZU, will sign FR5ZU/G from November 17
to December 8.  Asians QSL via JA8FCG.  Americans and Europeans QSL
via VE2NW.
 
EASTERN KIRIBATI.  A group of JA operators will be active from here
December 27 to January 2.  Activity will be on 160 through 6 meters
with CW, SSB and RTTY.  There is a chance for some satellite
operations.  Jack, KD4ND, will be traveling to Christmas Island on
December 3 for a 10 day bonefishing expedition.  He has applied for
a license and if it comes through, he will try to get on all bands,
mostly on SSB.  Some CW is possible.
 
SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS ISLAND.  From November 17 to 27, John, WZ8D,
and Joe, WB8GEX, will operate on 160 through 6 meters with CW and
SSB as V476WZ and V47NF.  A meter beacon, donated by WA8R, will be
on 50055.5 kHz pumping 3.5 watts to a dipole at 1580 feet ASL.  The
beacon call will be V44K.
 
HONG KONG.  Dave, WX3N, will return to VS6WO November 22.  He plans
to operate 80 and 160 meters daily starting at 1030z.  On 80 meters
try 3501, 3507 or 3513 kHz.  He will simultaneously operate on 160
meters on either 1824 or 1833 kHz.  During the CQWW contest he will
operate VS6WO single op. Outside of the contest listen for him as
VR2/WX3N.
 
GIBRALTAR.  Jorma, OH2KI, and Peter, K8UNP, will both be active in
the CQWW CW contest.  Jorma will operate single band on 80 meter CW
as ZB2X.  QSL via OH2KI.  Peter will operate single op as either
ZB2/K8UNP or K8UNP/ZB2 on 20, 15 or 10 meters.
 
ANGUILLA.  ND3F, WR3Z and ND3A, members of the Potomac Valley Radio
Club, will be operating as a multi/multi entry during the CQWW CW
contest.  They will sign VP2EZA.  Before and after the contest they
will be on 160 through 10 meters with CW and SSB signing VP2E/ their
home calls.  QSL VP2EZA via ND3A.  QSL all other calls via the
respective operator's home CBA.
 
TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS.  K8MFO, WD8AUB, W9VNE, W6RGG, WA4DRU,
WT8N, W0CG, and WD8LLD will be active in the CQWW CW contest as a
multi/multi entry as VP5VW.  Operations will be from the QTH of
Jody, VP5JM.  Outside the contest, each operator will sign VP5/ his
home call.  They may be active as early as November 20.  QSL VP5VW
via W8TPS.  QSL all other calls via the respective operator's home
CBA.
 
BARBADOS.  Steve, KU9C, and Ralph, K2PF, will be here on vacation
December 8 through 12.  They plan to be in on the ARRL 10 Meter
contest as 8P9GD and 8P9GE, respectively.  Plans are to concentrate
on Pacific openings on 20 meter CW.  Try around 14005 kHz between
2000 and 2400z.  QSL via their home calls.
 
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The 61st ARRL November Sweepstakes is
this weekend from 2100z November 19 to 0300z November 21.  This will
be the phone weekend of the contest.  See page 125 in October QST
for full contest rules.
