UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.  The PTT has approved three more licensees,
all graduates of a recent training session at Dubai Men's Technical
College.  Listen for newcomers A61AH, A61AI and A61AN.
 
ANTARCTICA.  Eddie, VK4EET, is operating as VI0ANT and is expected
to be stationed there through March.  Listen for him between 1130 to
1630z, primarily on CW, though he does operate some SSB.  RTTY and
AMTOR contacts are available on request.  Try 3502, 7005, 14005 and
21005 kHz for CW, and 3798, 7070, 14190 and 21295 kHz for SSB.  QSL
via VK4EET.  Others are also active.  Phil, VK4FPS, is on as VK0FPS
with SSB and digital modes.  QSL via VK3MA.  Lances, VK7ERZ, is on
as VK0ERZ with casual SSB ragchews.
 
CHATHAM ISLAND.  Listen for the CW of Ron, ZL1AMO, between December
10 and 20.  Though primarily a CW op, he will also operate some SSB
and RTTY.
 
MALDIVES ISLAND.  Tom, DL7UTM, aka H44XO, 3D2XO, T21XO and Y31XO,
will be signing 8Q7XO between Christmas and year end.
 
MALTA.  Birgit, DL7VTZ, and Holgert, DL7VTM, who were 9I2M and 9I2Z
earlier this year, are planning to operate from Malta for two weeks
sometime in March 1995.
 
BARBADOS.  Marian, KB9EKO, and Myron, K9JJR, should be on the air
soon and be active through December 12.  Listen for 8P9CT and 8P9DC.
Steve, KU9C, and Ralph, K2PF, will be signing 8P9GD and 8P9GE,
respectively, while vacationing December 8 through 12.  They also
plan to be active in the ARRL 10 Meter Contest.  QSL via their home
calls.
 
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The ARRL 160 Meter Contest will warm up
The Top Band this weekend.  It runs from 2200z December 2 until
1600z December 4.  W/VE stations send signal report and ARRL/RAC
Section for the exchange.  DX stations send signal report.  If
maritime or aeronautical mobile, sent ITU Region.  For full contest
rules, see page 131 of November QST.
 
TOPS is an international club founded in Great Britain for CW
enthusiasts.  The TOPS Activity Contest on 3.5 MHz CW is from 1800z
December 3 to 1800z December 4.  Limit operating to the 3510 to 3560
kHz segment.  Listen for stations calling CQ TAC or CQ QMF.
Exchange signal report and serial number.  TOPS members will also
give their membership numbers.  Logs go to OE1TKW and  are due
