VK2SG RTTY DX Notes, 28 October
VK2SG RTTY DX Notes for week ending 28 October 1994 (BID RTDX1028)

A point to ponder. I'm receiving from the packet network old
bulletins (e.g. ARLD, ARLP, ARLB, OPDX, RTDX and others) but with
different bulletin identification number (BID) from the original one.
The removal of the BID replaced with a local bid number has caused
confusion and some BBS suffer the multiple delivery of the DX notes
and bulletins with different bid nr. Changing the original
identification only leads to the same bulletin arriving at a BBS from
various sources many times. This causes the BBS to be filled with
redundant and repetetive information. This also causes the sysops
many hours of nonproductive work. Think about it.

Our thanks this week go to ZS5S, W2JGR, WB2V, W5KSI, W6PQS, WA6PJR,
PA0HVF, DL8AAM, I5IGQ, I5ICY and IK5PWJ PacketCluster, the
International RTTY DX Association and the NJ0M node of the Minnesota
DX Packet Cluster network.

Notes of Interest:

SOUTH SHETLAND, HF0. The International RTTY DX Association has
donated a HAL Telereader RTTY Terminal for use at HF0POL, the Polish
Antarctic Expedition Base on King George Island in the South Shetland
group. The operator, Andy, SP2GOW, has been trained on the keys by
Wald, SP4KM. Since it may be several months before Andy gets to the
base and appears on RTTY, keep an eye on the VK2SG DX Notes for
updates.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, A6. Don, WB2DND will be in Dubai from 11 to 16
Nov. and will operate A61AD as time permits. He suggests West Coast
USA look for him on either 14025 khz CW or 14090 RTTY at 1300Z (around
his sunset). He will concentrate on 80/160 near 0200Z (around his
sunrise), but did not specify mode.

UGANDA, 5X. Eugen, 5X4B (formerly DL8AAI, 5Z4FU) and his XYL Sandra,
5X4A, are active for at least one year from Kitgum in northern Uganda.
They are the very first and only hams in that area. QSL via DL8AAM,
Thomas M. Roesner, Narzissenweg 11, D-37081 Goettingen. Be patient.
It will need some time to get logs and print the QSLs.

Send bandpass and notes for next week bulletin to Jules,
