EXPLANATION OF WEIGHT ASSIGNMENT METHODS:

In all cases the weight assigned to a horse shall not be less than@15 95 @7pounds
nor more than@15 150 @7pounds.

@15Allowance Weights:@7 
 
Non winners of one race allowed 5 pounds.
   (In races over 1 mile, only races over 1 mile are considered)

Non winners of two races at any distance allowed 3 pounds.

Fillies racing in unrestricted races allowed 5 pounds before September 1st
   and 3 pounds thereafter.

TRAINER GAME: Non winners of $250,000 (before July 1st) or $500,000 (after
   June 30) allowed 2 pounds.

OTHER GAMES: Non winners of $500,000 allowed 2 pounds.

@15Handicap Weights:@7 
 
Weights are determined by the computer based on its assessment of horses'
relative abilities.  The top horse gets the scale weight; other horses are
adjusted downward from that point.

TRAINER GAME: For races over one mile after April 30, Non winners of a race
over 1 mile are generally allowed an additional 3 pounds by the computer.

@15Scale Weights:@7 
 
Jockey Club Scale of Weights for age and distance is used to determine the
weights.  Fillies racing in unrestricted races allowed 5 pounds before
September 1st and 3 pounds thereafter.
