Spare ribs and cabbage
(zeberka wieprzowena z kapusta)
1 T oil
4 1/2 Lb. fresh pork spareribs cut into 6 pieces
1 Lrg onion
1 lge carrot sliced
2 t. caraway seeds
2 tea. instant beef bouillon
1/2 tea.salt
1/4 tea. coarsely groung pepper
1 bay leaf
2 cups water
1/2 cup vineager
1 small head green cabbage cut into 6 wedges

Heat oil in dutch oven until hot. cook pork spareribs, few pieces at a time, 
over medium heat until brown on all sides, say about 15 minutes.  Drain fat.
add onion, carrot, bouillon, salt,carraway seeds, 1/4 tea. pepper and bay leaf 
.  pour water and vineager over pork mixture. heat to boiling.  Reduce heat.  
Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hiours. Add cabbage and sprinkle with pepper.  cover 
and simmer until cabbage is tender, about 45 minutes.  Remove bay leaf.  
arrange spare ribs and vegetables on serving platter and garnish with snipped 
parsley if desired.
