Got this from an old Southern Living magazine several years ago. I made some
Thanksgiving and sent them to the Fire Station with my son. All I got back
was an empty dish! So hear it is.

1 package (18oz.) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter or marg.
4 eggs
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1-1/2 cups dark corn syrup
1 teasp. vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans

1. preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. set aside 3/4 cup cake mix.
In a large mixing bowl combine remaining cake mix,butter/marg.,
and one egg. Mix with fork until crumbly. Press crumbs into the
bottom of a greased 13x9x2" pan. Bake 15-20min. or until light golden
brown.
3. In a large bowl, combine reserved cake mix, 3 eggs,brown sugar,corn
syrup, and vanilla;beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 2 min.
4. Pour over partially baked crust and sprinkle with pecans. Bake
for 30-35 min. Let cool and cut into bars.
