We grow a lot of pumpkins and winter squash. Just keeping them in a cool
room seems to work well, IF the pumpkin or squash has been allowed to fully
ripen on the vine, first.

We had squash & pumpkins in JUNE from last year that were in excellent shape.
Just keep an eye on them and discard IMMEDIATELY anyt that start to get a
bad spot.
