                               by Dave Calmer

I'm starting off the new year with a new format for the INB-yymm.ZIP files
(as if you couldn't see that for yourself <g>). From here on each "article"
will be an individual file rather than the old way of just lumping it all
together in a single text file. I can't take full responsibility (or blame)
for this change, many of you have requested that we go back to this type
of format. As you can see I agree 100%, this arrangement makes very easy
to find what you're looking for (the file CONTENTS points the way) and it
makes it easy for a sysop to post articles as a bulletin on their system
if they desire. The specifics are simple, each file is named INB## where
the ## corresponds to the page number listed in the CONTENTS file. If you
have any questions or comments about the format you can always find me in
  the NET STAFF conference.

A new feature is being introduced this month is the CONFERENCE SPOTLIGHT.
Each month in this area we will profile some of the conferences currently
available on Intelec so users and sysops alike can better understand what
we have to offer them. This month's profile is dedicated to the new AUDIO-
VIDEO conference, mainly because I happen to be the moderator and I am
familiar enough with the conference to write the article <g>. I strongly
urge any and all moderators that would like to see their conferences
included in future SPOTLIGHT articles to put together a short write up on
the conference and send it to me (DAVE CALMER) in the NET STAFF conference
(if you don't have that conference available feel free to use MODERATORS).
This gives all moderators the chance to promote their conference a little
  better.

In closing I'd like you all to welcome BILL WILSON to the In-Basket team.
Bill will be working as our NETWORK NEWS reporter, his duties include
keeping all of us informed on all the late breaking network news. It is
our goal to have Bill focus more on the user angle of the news with me
continuing to concentrate on the sysop side of things. This isn't to say
he's limited in scope, news is news no matter how it is viewed.

That about does it for this month, I hope you enjoy the changes made so
far. This file will continue to evolve over the coming months so stick
with us and by all means keep those comments and suggestions coming in!
