Windows NT Driver (Beta Release)

This driver is compatible with the March 1993 Preliminary Release of
Windows NT  If you have an older version of Windows NT you must
upgrade to the March (or later) release.  The ALWAYS NT driver 
supports all SCSI peripherals supported by NT including: hard disks,
CD-ROMs, tape drives, optical drives, etc.

All ALWAYS IN-2000 adapters may be used with Windows NT HOWEVER you
must have hardware serial ROM version 2.7 or later installed.  Contact
ALWAYS Technical support for information on upgrades.

Windows NT is supplied on CD-ROM.  Make sure that your model CD-ROM
is listed in the NT compatibility guide.

In this root directory are three files required for NT installation of :

        *       ALWAYS.SYS
        *       TXTSETUP.BAT
        *       WINNTTAG

PROCEDURE

1.      Insert NT boot diskette and boot system.

2.      When the initial setup screen appears choose "ENTER" to setup NT

3.      Choose "CUSTOM" setup then enter "C" to continue.  NT will scan
        for SCSI adapters.

4.      Choose "S" to configure a SCSI adapter. 

5.      Highlight "OTHER" and depress <ENTER>. NT will now ask for 
        the manufacturers driver diskette.

6.      Insert your ALWAYS NT driver diskette (this diskette) into
        drive A: then depress <ENTER>

7.      Highlight "ALWAYS Technology IN-2000 SCSI Host Adapter" then
        depress <ENTER>.

        NOTE:

        Up to four IN-2000's may be used.  Each adapter must be
        at a different I/O and BIOS address.  At least one adapter 
        must have BIOS enabled for booting from the hard disk.
        Prioity sequence of adapters is by I/O address not BIOS
        address.  Therefore select the lowest I/O address and
        ensure that the BIOS is enabled on the adapter connect to
        the drive you wish to boot from.

8.      On the next screen depress <ENTER> unless you wish to
        install a different model of adapter.

9.      If the list of configuration items present on the screen
        are correct depress <ENTER> to continue.  At this point
        the driver for the IN-2000 has been loaded and your system
        can now access the CD-ROM drive.

10.     It is now time to create or choose hard disk partitions.  
        Follow the procedure supplied with Windows NT  NT will 
        ask you to choose a drive and partition to install its 
        software, from the CD-ROM. Once you dress <ENTER> the  
        system will commence copying files to the approprate
        partiton.

        NOTE:   It may take 15 minutes or longer for all of the
                files to be copied.   A "% Completed Bar" advises
                you of progress.

11.     Once all files have been copied remove the diskette from    
        drive A: and reboot you system.
