AB OBJECTIVE: Evaluation of health propaganda programs and ways on AIDS
suitable for people living in Sichuan in which 5 HIV seropositives and 2
died AIDS cases have been found since 1991. METHODS: Preparation of
different styles of health propaganda programs on HIV/AIDS and delivered
to the popular people and then randomly distributed and collected
questionaire forms for statistical analyses by computer. RESULTS:
According to the cost-efficiency analysis, the sequence of priority for
propaganda ways was: TV programs, short article with picture in
newspapers, posters, radio programs, pamphlet with color pictures,
on-street propaganda and consultation, hot-line telephone consultation,
and color leaflets with no picture. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: TV
programs are the first choice for health propaganda on AIDS which are
more economic and more efficient in Sichuan province of China.
