 AB OBJECTIVE: Statement of different CD4/CD8 ratio values in HIV-infected
       children, related to the presence of the absence of p24-antigenaemia.
       METHODS: 1. Patients. 40 HIV-seropositive children (4 to 5 yrs old),
       with bacteriologically confirmed respiratory or intestinal opportunistic
       infections, were subdivided into the following
       subgroups:a.p24-antigenaemia+, p24-antibody-, hypogammaglobulinaemia;
       b.p24-antigenaemia+,p24-antibody+, hypergammaglobulinaemia;
       c.p24-antigenaemia-,p24-antibody+, hypergammaglobulinaemia. 2. Sooring
       of CD4/CD8 ratios. Blood lymphocytes, among a-,b-, and c-subgroups, were
       studied, concerning CD4 and CD8 amounts, by means of flow cytometry
       (BECTON DICKINSON FACSort), in the presence of appropriated monoclonals.
       Ranges of CD4/CD8 ratios were expressed in median with 25 to 75
       percentils. RESULTS: The following CD4/CD8 ranges were present,
       respectively:a-subgroup:from 0.120 to 0.326; b-subgroup:from 0.534 to
       0.615; c-subgroup:from 0.527 to 0.700.
