AB OBJECTIVE: In order to avoid the complications of the patients after the
extractions of the teeth and surgical treatments, dentist should
understand the conditions of the patients and be care of them as earier
as possible on the infection stage of HIV. METHODS: Clinical case of the
dental treatment of the patients suffering from HIV. RESULT: Patient
record. 32 years old Man Heamophillia A on the stage of AIDS HIV was
transmitted through Factor VIII infusion. Oral condition: There were
some ulcers on the oral mucous membran at the regions corresponded to
the teeth apical lesions. Dental treatments: Extraction of the 14 13 23
24 25 35 45 46 (WHO CODE) After the extractions, the wounds became the
deep wide ulcers at the 25 region. He was also affected by CMV just
after the dental treatments. DISCUSSION: There are many risks on the
patients for the dental treatments, especially teeth extractions on the
stage of AIDS. The extractions should be done at early stage of the
infections of HIV. Because the prognosiss of the tooth are esase to be
suspected at the initial stage. The prolonged healing are the results of
the accumulated effects of the immunological satage and side effects of
the treatments of the drugs, AZT and ddI. In addition, surgical
treatments give the chances of the CMV infections which are subclinicaly
suppressed by the immun systems. Dentist should understand the role of
the dental treatments on the clinical course of the HIV infection.
