AB OBJECTIVES: To evaluate clinical differences between IVDU and homosexual
patients with Kaposi's Sarcoma (KS) associated with AIDS. METHODS AND
PATIENTS: We review the hospital records of 170 patients with KS
associated with AIDS diagnosed in Madrid from 1984 to April 1992. 32
patients (18.8%) were IVDU male and 138 patients (81.1%) were
homosexuals. RESULTS: Results are shown on the table: TABULAR DATA, SEE
ABSTRACT VOLUME. CONCLUSIONS: Prevalence of KS associated with AIDS is
higher among homosexuals. Approximately, the third part of IVDU patients
do not present skin involvement at diagnosis of KS.
