Type START at the prompt to run Verse Quest. Next select a video mode.

VGA MODE: In VGA mode a title screen appears while music plays
through the PC speaker. When the music stops the screen will clear.
Next, you will see a screen that shows our address. This screen will
also clear by itself. From there all you do is follow the prompts.
Use the arrow keys to highlight your selections, and press ENTER.

TEXT MODE: When running in text mode Verse Quest displays only one
preview screen, instead of two. This screen serves as a title screen,
and it also shows our address, along with other information. Music
plays while this screen is displayed. When the music stops the screen
    will clear on its own.

LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY: The level of difficulty you select determines
how many demerits you are allowed. Novices are allowed six demerits,
advanced players four, and experts two. Any time you select a letter
not contained in the verse, fail in an attempt to guess the verse, or
select a vowel you are charged with a demerit. If you exceed the number
of demerits allowed the game will end.

VERSES: All verses are taken from the Douay Rheims Bible, 1899 edition.
Not all verses are reproduced in their entirety. In most cases, only a
portion of the verse is used. Regardless, the first word in the phrase
you are asked to guess will always be capitalized.
