		  About WinCharging

Thank you trying WinCharging. It's the newest and best way
credit card users can manage their charge accounts.

WinCharging v/1.0 received a Four-Star rating from Ziff-
Davis, the parent company of PC Magazine. That version was
also a finalist in the 1995 Shareware Awards contest.

Version 1.1 also holds a Four-Star rating. One Ziff-Davis
reviewer reported that "WinCharging is a sophisticated
credit card management system", and that it's "a strong
tool for detail-oriented people."

This version (1.2) is even better. Its .EXE is 35,000
bytes smaller than the .EXE of the original release.
It's faster, does more, and is easier to use. And there
are still more reasons to buy WinCharging ...

As you may know, WinCharging can do a lot more than simply
monitor credit card expenditures. If you use credit cards
to earn car rebates or money back, WinCharging can help you
earn more. When you've reached the maximum rebate on one
card, WinCharging warns you so you can switch to another
income-producing card.

With mail theft on the rise (especially of account numbers),
it is imperative to know exactly what you're paying for.
WinCharging helps you keep track of each and every one of
your charges.

You can also use WinCharging to tell you when you've reached
your cards' credit limits.

		   Shareware Edition

The license you agree to by evaluating WinCharging allows
you to test it without charge for 60 days. After that
period, you will not be able to create new records. You
can, however, continue to access your existing records.

The shareware edition of WinCharging is a full-featured,
fully functional program. It is identical to the
standard edition except for the shareware reminder screen
you see when you start the program that displays the number
of days remaining of your evaluation period.

		      INSTALLATION

To ensure a perfect installation, make sure all of the
files listed in CONTENTS.TXT appear on your shareware
distribution floppy disk. If any are missing, contact
your shareware distributor immediately.

If you downloaded WinCharging's ZIP file and expanded it
on your hard disk, make sure all of the files are present.
You can then copy them to a floppy disk to create an
installation disk or simply install WinCharging from
that directory (which is considerably faster).

To install, start Windows. Open the File Menu and click
Run. Put the installation disk in your a: drive and enter
A:SETUP on Run's command line. If you put the disk in
your b: drive, enter B:SETUP. If you're installing from
a directory on your hard drive, enter the full path plus
SETUP (for example: C:\TEMPDIR\SETUP).

The installation procedure checks to ensure you have
Windows 3.1 or 3.11 and that your system meets certain
other requirements. If all is in order, it displays the
default directory for WinCharging's files.

You can put WinCharging's files in any directory you wish,
but as with any other major program, the files should be
placed in their own directory, and that directory should be
right off the root directory for optimum efficiency
(e.g., C:\WINCHARG).

		    GETTING STARTED

WinCharging comes with a special online Help file called
MeFirst!. It's easy to read and comes with loads of
graphics to simplify the setup process. When you start
WinCharging the first time, it asks you if you would like
to see MeFirst!. Reply yes.

With both WinCharging and MeFirst! open, you can simply
<Alt>+<Tab> back and forth, first reading MeFirst! about
how to do something, then switching back to WinCharging
to actually do it.

When you no longer need MeFirst! you can delete it by
simply selecting a command found on the File Menu.

		   ORDERING WINCHARGING

WinCharging comes in two editions: standard and deluxe.

The deluxe edition allows you to have any number of
userfiles, each capable of handling up to twelve credit
card accounts; permits password protection and file
encryption; and comes with the AutoLoad Override.

The standard edition is the same as the shareware edition,
but without the reminder screen. It manages a single
userfile and a maximum of four credit card accounts. It
comes with no password protection or file encryption and
does not come with the AutoLoad Override capability.

For more information on the deluxe edition, open the Help
file for WinCharging and search on "deluxe edition".

			History

Version 1.10

Match Verbatim checkbox on Report Generator failed when
checked.

Version 1.00a

Grid Work and Details of Outstanding Bills: If you entered
the edit mode for either of these forms and then clicked the
scrollbar, the edit field remained on the screen. Clicking
the scrollbar now ends the edit mode without saving any
changes.

PDM Accounts: Changing a PDM record's amount in Grid Work
would, when the record amount was greater than the account's
total outstanding amount, incorrectly calculate the result.
