AB In this paper, studies on single Chinese medicinal herbs, composite
prescriptions, and their active principles, which have been used against
HIV both in China and abroad, are highlighted; and the results from
clinical treatment of 158 HIV infected patients performed by a
China-Tanzania Coordinating Group are also reported. Six of the patients
displayed seronegative conversion and remained so in the follow-up for
10 to 15 months. The author assumes that the prescriptions and drugs
strengthening the patients' resistance could enhance the efficacy of
       AIDS treatment.
