AB Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head has been described in the
literature in patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus.
It has been associated with either a hypertriglyceridemic state or the
presence of antiphospholipid antibodies. We describe a case of AVN of
the medial femoral condyle in an HIV-infected patient associated with a
       hypertriglyceridemic state.
