AB New studies are being launched to learn more about Kaposi's sarcoma
(KS), a skin cancer common in AIDS patients that may be caused by a
sexually-transmitted virus. A New York study is currently comparing skin
biopsies from KS lesions, both from AIDS patients and those not infected
with HIV, and is evaluating urine samples, to determine whether
angiogenesis causes lesions to grow. Biopsies are being taken only from
lesions not treated by anticancer therapy. HIV negative men with healthy
       skin are serving as controls.
