UPDATED PHOTO CD DLL

The Kodak Photo CD plug-in which shipped with Adobe Photoshop 3.0
was not able to open a 64BASE (72 MB) image from a Pro Photo
CD disk, unless Windows NT was being used. The symptom of the
problem was that the 4096x6144 resolution selection was not
available. All other resolutions opened correctly.

Normally, Photoshop 3.0 installs PCDLIB32.DLL in your Windows
directory. If you want to open 64BASE images, you need the latest
version of the file PCDLIB32.DLL, replacing the version that
shipped with Adobe Photoshop 3.0.

Copy the new version of PCDLIB32.DLL into your Windows directory,
overwriting the version which originally shipped with Photoshop
3.0. The new file has a date of 1-31-95 with a size of 100,864
bytes. The old file has a date of 10-12-94 and a size of 99,840
bytes.

In order to read Photo CD disks reliably, it is necessary to
disable the disk caching done by SMARTDRV.EXE for the CD-ROM
drive. SMARTDRV.EXE is normally started in the AUTOEXEC.BAT
file and its caching for the CD-ROM drive can be done in one
of the following two ways:

1. SMARTDRV.EXE /U
2. SMARTDRV.EXE E- (assumes that E: is your CD-ROM drive name)

The first version turns off caching for all CD-ROM drives you may
have. The second version turns of caching for a single drive.
