FaxCentral - Product Overview
Applicable to: AP-S, Canada, LA, United States
General Information
A fax machine and a whole lot more. This fax messaging product improves all aspects of fax management by enabling all your faxes to be received electronically into its memory. Faxes are then transferred to your PC for viewing or printing, if desired, through your system serial port or phone connection when away from the office. Features include:
- RJ11 (4), RS-232 C/D DB-9F
- Voice and fax messages can be discriminated automatically on a single line.
- Distinctive Ring phone number can be used to answer on a shorter ring count as a fax device only.
- FaxCentral can be setup to always answer as a fax device.
- Four RJ-11Fs which accommodates one dial-up line, telephone (or fax machine) connected to the line, and answering machine* and telephone that is normally connected to line except when the incoming call is a fax. (*) Not all answering machines are compatible.
- Fax Commands: Class 2 (Class 1 is pass-through mode only)
- Sleek new package: Including a large Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) that shows important messaging information. A blinking LED also clearly indicates when a new message has been received.
- Includes QuickLink III Fax: An advanced fax package for sending, viewing, printing, and archiving faxes, QuickLink II Fax provides terminal emulation, BBS access, and file transfer capability for ComCentral 33.6 (ComCentral and FaxCentral also work with many other popular software packages. On-line services and Internet access kits are also included with the ComCentral products.)
- Electronic fax handling: Electronic fax handling enables you to store all fax documents on the PC hard drive, annotate faxes, and resend them without loss of image quality.
- Password protected: New faxes can be password protected to avoid unwarranted viewing of important fax documents.
- Detailed fax logs: Detailed fax logs are available that enable the user to confirm receipt of forwarded faxes and allow the user to retrieve or forward only specific faxes stored in the unit's memory.
- Works with an answering service: Using the Distinctive Ring service from your local phone company, you can set up a fax number with a different ring type. If programmed to do so, FaxCentral will detect this ring type and answer the call as a fax device allowing the standard ring (voice calls) to default back to your answering service.
- Works with existing answering machines: You can attach an answering machine to FaxCentral. FaxCentral will allow the answering machine to answer the call. If fax tones are detected, FaxCentral will disconnect your answering machine and receive the fax.
- Receive faxes while your PC is powered off
- Use less resource: Send faxes using less PC resources; faxes can be scheduled after hours with your PC powered off
- Automatic fax forwarding
- Remote fax retrieval: Retrieve faxes from a remote fax machine or forward faxes from a remote telephone
- Pager notification: You can be notified via phone call or pager that a fax document has been received.
- Status LED
