Aptiva - Computer runs very slow
Applicable to: United States
If your computer is running very slow, you may want to make sure that the cache is enabled. Enter the configuration utility by pressing the [F1] key on the keyboard just after the computer is turned on, and you see a box in the upper left hand corner. Please click here to see additional information on performing a two mouse button reset if this procedure doesn't work. Once you are in the configuration utility,
1. Using the up and down arrows, highlight the advanced options line and then press enter.
2. Highlight cache options and press enter.
3. Make sure the cache state is set to enabled (use the right & left arrow keys to toggle between states).
4. Hit escape to exit.
5. Hit escape again to exit.
6. Hit escape one more time to exit.
7. An exit setup utility screen should appear and "Yes, exit the setup utility" should be highlighted. Hit enter.
