Description
This driver package contains the IBM 9397DVD Video Capture Driver for Windows 98. After you install this driver, and using an application such as Asymetrix Digital Video Producer, you will be able to capture the video image on to your computer.

Additional Information:

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard drive. It will only extract under Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT. The extraction process will NOT work with any other operating system.

Installation Guide
Note:

* Use this driver only for the ThinkPad 770X, 770Z
* Before installing, make sure that you have installed the following software in the computer:
- Video Features v1.32 or later for Windows 95/98: Click here to obtain the current driver.

1. Start Windows 98.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on Start -> Run...
4. Type in "x:\<path name>\SETUP.EXE". Then click on OK.
where x: is the drive letter and <path name> is the path you extracted the files to.
Default path is C:\DRIVERS\W9X\CAPTURE\
5. When prompted, restart the computer.
6. When system starts, it will enumerate (recognize) a new device (titled "Unknown Device") and asks if you want to install it. This is the IBMVCAP device. Do NOT choose "Cancel," instead following the recommended instruction from the Add New Hardware Wizard, and selecting the directory containing the "ibmvcap.sys" file.
Default path is C:\DRIVERS\W9X\CAPTURE\

<<<WARNING>>>
DO NOT use the Add New Hardware Wizard / Applet found in the Control Panel. This method, after installing the driver, will re-enumerate the devices and attempt another installation of the IBMVCAP device.

---- DMA setting information ----
If you wish to enable high performance capturing, do the following.
1. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
2. Double click on "System" and select the "Device Manager" tab.
3. Select Disk Drives.
4. Select GENERIC IDE DISK TYPE.
5. Click on "Properties" and select the "Settings" tab.
6. Make sure there is a check mark next to DMA.
7. Select O.K.
8. Close all windows and restart the system.

------Re-installation guide------------------
1. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
2. Open the System icon.
3. Click on the Device Manager tab.
4. Expand Sound, Video and Game controllers.
5. Select IBMVCAP, WDM Video Capture.
6. Click on "Properties".
7. Click on the "Driver" tab and select "Update Driver..."
8. Click on "Next".
9. Select "Display a list of all drivers in a specific location so you can select the driver you want." and click on "Next"
10. Select IBMVCAP, WDM Video Capture (IBM Corp. 1-25-1999).
11. Select "Have Disk.."
12. In the "Copy Manufacture's File from:" box, enter in the location you extracted the files to and click on the "OK" button.
Default path is C:\DRIVERS\W9X\CAPTURE\
13. Select "IBMVCAP, WDM Video Capture" and click on the "OK" button.
14. Respond yes to UPDATE DRIVER WARNING dialog box.
15. Click on "Next".
16. After the files are installed, click on "Finish".
17. Close all windows and restart your system.
