Aptiva - 2156 Removals and replacements - Hard drive
Applicable to: Japan, United States
To remove or replace the hard disk drive:
1. Remove the diskette and CD-ROM drive. See "Removing the diskette drive" 
and "Removing the CD-ROM drive"
2. Remove the three screws that secure the system metal frame and the bay holder, which holds the diskette and CD-ROM drive.
3. Grasp both sides of the bay holder. Push the bay holder forward the back of the system unit to uncouple it from the system metal frame.
4. Pick the bay holder upward and remove it completely
5. Disconnect the power and signal cables from the hard disk.
6. Remove the two screws that couple the hard disk bay with the system metal frame.
