TP 770 - Installing the Enhanced Video Adapter drivers in Windows 95

Please follow this updated procedure in place of the Installing the Device Driver on page 2-1 of the IBM ThinkPad 770 DVD Enhanced Video Adapter Installation Guide. These instructions are specific to Windows 95.
The order of installation is:
- Obtain the device driver diskette (See note below)
- Install the DVD Enhanced Video Adapter Option card
- Install the device driver
Obtain the Device Driver Diskette:
If you are using pre-loaded Windows 95 with your ThinkPad 770 System, you can create the diskette from the Diskette
Factory (a blank formatted diskette will be required.)
1. Click "Start", then "ThinkPad Tools", then "Diskette Factory"
2. Check the Windows 95 checkbox, then click "Yes"
3. Select "MPEG Features Disk III for Windows 95" (Note: The description may indicate Disk II.)
4. Click on "Build" and follow the instructions on the screen to complete building the diskette.
Note: If you do not have diskette factory on your system, then obtain the latest update from our Web Site by clicking here (

Installing the DVD Enhanced Video Adapter:
Follow the instructions from the DVD Enhanced Video Adapter's Installation Guide on page 2-2:
Installing the Device Driver:
1. Start your system. The Adapter will be detected by Windows 95 and the "Update Device Driver Wizard" will start.
2. Insert the MPEG Features Disk into the diskette drive and click "Next."
3. The Wizard will state that the driver was found for the "IBM PCI 1/2 Decoder."
4. Click "Finish". The "Insert Disk" window will open. Click "OK."
5. The "Copying Files" window will open. In the "Copy files from:" field enter A: then click "OK."
6. Restart the computer to activate the driver. The installation is complete.
Note:
If you also plan to install the IBM ThinkPad 770 DVD/CD-ROM Drive, you must install the drive using the MPEG Features Disk that is shipped with the drive. Do NOT use the one from diskette factory.
If you do not have the MPEG Features Disk that is shipped with the DVD/CD-ROM Drive, you may download the DVD/CD-ROM MPEG Features Diskette III for Windows 95 from the IBM File Repository or Web Page. The file name is MPTPDW95. Click here to get the file:
