Aptiva - 2156 Bezel power button spring replacement instructions

INSTRUCTIONS TO REPLACE A FAILING ON/OFF BUTTON SPRING ON A 2156-D1N or D1J SYSTEM.
A.REMOVE THE TOP COVER: -
1.Disconnect the system unit power cord.
2.Remove 3 screws that secure the top cover at the back of the system unit.
3.Hold the top of the cover and push it backwards about 1/4 of an inch.
4.Lift the cover up to remove completely.

B. REMOVE THE FRONT COVER (BEZEL): -
1.Remove the two screws from the bottom of the cover
2.Uncouple the three tabs on the front cover of the system unit metal frame as well as the two on the bottom (being careful not to apply too much force causing side tabs to break)

C. REMOVE SPRING FROM BUTTON:
1.Reach behind the button, pressing two small tabs together releasing the button assembly (button/spring) from the front cover.
2.Remove the old spring from button housing and replace it with new spring.
3. Carefully replace button housing and spring in tab slots aligning the large tab in the larger slot and the small tab in the smaller slot.
4.Before replacing the front cover test the button assembly by carefully pushing the button in-out several times. If functioning correctly proceed to step 5 below. If not re-do steps 1-3 in this section.
5.Re-assemble by reversing steps in section "B",i.e couple three tabs on front cover, replace two screws to bottom of front cover..reverse steps in section "A",i.e. replace cover and 3 screws that secure the top cover at the back of the system unit.
